THE WEBSITE OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

   Why get involved?

Picture
Well, why not?  If you think the world's a fair enough place already, that would be one reason.    Or maybe you think everyone should sort out their own problems?    Or perhaps you have a full life already and can't spare even a few minutes to take some small action to make a contribution to a better world?
If that's you, stop reading here.   But if you're one of those people who get upset at injustice, especially when it affects the lives of people from other lands who are less able to take care of their own problems, read on.
We're asking only for some of your time.  But you need not devote your whole life to these issues.   Your contribution, however small, will be valuable.  Even if all you do is pass the link for this site to others, we will be grateful and you will have done something to raise awareness of internationalism and its importance for a better world.
There are other things you can also do without giving up a lot of time, and without becoming an 'activist'.
Some of the issues that we'd like to air on this website are listed in Our aims.    You may have more, or you may even disagree with some of them.    Use our discussion forum to make your views known.  We can all learn from each other.
Read some of the articles that appear on the site.  If you agree with them, send copies to others, or, if the author has given permission, offer them for publication in relevant magazines or newspapers.
Have a look at the videos in our archive and if you think others will enjoy them., send the link address to them.
Take part in our survey on our home page.
Finally, if you want to do more, read out suggestions opposite. Thank you for your time so far.

How to help Checklist

1 Set up a local action group.  In your school, college, workplace, or just among your friends,  gather together a team of people who feel, like you, that the world is far from fair.  You can act together to do some of things suggested below to help change it.  Go to the group page for more information.   To see what other groups have been doing, you can access the News Page of each group

2 Join an existing Group.   Look at our group list to see if there is already an existing action group you can join and help.

3 Publicise your views.  Monitor the local and international news and when something unfair is happening in the world, tell everyone about it. Look at the Spreading the Word section to find out how to get your views out there.

4. Write an article.  Write an article for this website on any current issue affecting international cooperation and submit it here.  If you tick the box agreeing to release your author's rights, other users of the site will be able to help publicise your views to a wider audience.   We would, of course, ask them to inform us of any publication so that you will also know about it.   If you would like to make a video to post on our front page and add to our video archive, see our Make a video section.

5 Organise an fund-raising event.  The Website for International Cooperation is only a communication tool, and we do not raise funds for any projects.  But you could raise money for a deserving international charity - see our useful links section for some ideas - and tell us about it so we can add it to our latest successes pages.

6 Tell us about what you're doing using our contact page.  We can then add your contribution to our latest successes list, so your example can be

7 Be a translator.  We would like to make this site available in as many languages as possible.  If you could offer to help by translating the content of the pages into your native language, please contact us

8 Give us some suggestions to add to this list, either by email or in our discussion forum
